There is no such thing as the exact time to hand over your gifts to the groomsmen and bridesmaids. What matter most is how you gave them, which can be done during one of the following occasions: rehearsal dinner, bachelors or bachelorette party, bridesmaids' luncheon, and anytime before the wedding.
There are no strict rules as to when the exact date and time is to hand over your gifts to your groomsmen. It's a matter of perfect timing and the manner of presenting them; although, it would be ideal to give them during the following occasions:
Rehearsal dinner
Some couple find it perfect to give their presents during the rehearsal dinner where everybody is present. Various dates can be chosen, which ranges from 2 weeks to 1 day before the actual wedding day. At least during that time, you will have a chance to say a short message of thanks to all the participants who really shared their time in preparing for your big day.
Bachelors or bachelorette party
If you give out something that is naughty as a gift, better make it during the bachelors' party or the bachelorette party where it is exclusive for the close friends of the groom and bride respectively.
Bridesmaids' luncheon
The usual time to give out gifts to the bridesmaids is during brunch, luncheon, afternoon tea party, or during your spa day. You can write a brief message of thanks along with the gifts or say a short speech thanking everybody for their efforts. If you bring with you important ladies like your mom or future mom, have the honor to acknowledge their presence.
Anytime before the wedding
Since most of the gifts are usually chosen based on the personalities of your groomsmen and bridesmaids, it is almost possible that those things can be used during the wedding. Therefore, it is recommended to hand them over before the wedding day, so that you will be amazed how it suits them well when they use it on your wedding day.
How to give the presents
When giving the presents, a short message of appreciation must accompany the gifts to show how grateful you are for having them. You can say an individual message every time you hand a gift or you can distribute the gifts at one time, so that you just address the message to everybody. However, if you are the type who wants to have an intimate talk, you can approach one by one and thank him in private.
