Reasons for Giving Gifts to the Groomsmen and Bridesmaids

There are several reasons why giving of bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts is necessary. Gifts are given for the following reasons: as a gesture of appreciation, as a remembrance, and as an acknowledgment of their significance.

Although giving of gifts to your bridesmaids and groomsmen is optional, it is strongly recommended and encouraged for the following reasons:

As a gesture of appreciation

Bridesmaids and groomsmen are not intended to just sit back and relax during the ceremony. They serve as assistants of the bride and groom all the way from the church down to the reception. They have a big role even during the wedding preparation just like in choosing the wedding motif, the set-up, token for sponsors, and more. Aside from those mentioned reasons, these are the people who often give the couples favors like last minute errands and even emotional support during wedding jitters. For their participation and efforts in making your dream wedding a success, part of the credit should be given back to them. Giving of gifts is just one of the many ways of showing your gratitude to them.

As a remembrance

Marriage is an important chapter in one's life, which is made possible through a wedding ceremony. This is a special day to be shared with your loved ones and close friends as well. To make this a memorable affair, tokens are distributed to the attendees especially to the sponsors, bridesmaids, and groomsmen.

As an acknowledgment of their significance

Most of the time, your bridesmaids and groomsmen are your relatives and close friends, who have played a major part in your lives. They have been your witnesses as you grow, mature, and step forward to your new life. As much as they would want to let you feel how important you are to them by being present on your wedding day; it is fair enough to make them feel their significance in return. This is possible by giving them personalized gifts they deserve.
