Oil soaps can only be used on sealed and finished hardwood floors and make the process of removing dirt and grime from your hardwood floor surface easier. An oil soap will not leave any greasy residue after application. You can also use oil soaps or other vegetable soap to make a watered-down solution which you can use to maintain your hardwood floor. However, make sure that you do not apply excess moisture because water can damage wooden floors and cause them to warp. You can opt for a spray bottle so that you can control the amount of the mixture that you apply to the floor.

Wood floor cleaner

Wood floor cleaners are popular among homeowners because of their easy and convenient application process. They easily remove dirt and grime from the floor surface and do not leave behind any dull residues. Additionally, they are also available in most supermarkets and convenience stores. There are many brands of cleaners on the market, and it is advisable to choose the right one for your floors and read the labels before using them. Some cleaners are excellent for sealed wooden floors. However, not all wood floor cleaners are applicable for waxed, oiled or unfinished hardwood flooring.

White vinegar

White vinegar can be considered a universal cleaning agent and deodorizer. Additionally, because it is all-natural, it does not contain toxic chemicals that can damage your floor or put your family at risk. White vinegar is not only successful as a cleaner, it can also decrease mold by up to 90%. To use white vinegar as a cleaning agent, simply use water to dilute it and follow a ratio of 2 gallons of cold water for every cup of white vinegar.

Mixture of white vinegar and vegetable oil

By mixing white vinegar with vegetable oil, you can also come up with a natural polishing agent for your hardwood floor. Combine equal parts of both liquids into a spray bottle; you can also mix the two into a bucket and use a mop to apply it on the floor. Be sure to dust off the floor first before misting or applying the vinegar and vegetable oil mixture. Use a cotton towel to rub the mixture into the wooden surface. Work in small floor areas at a time and be sure not to leave the solution sitting on the floor for a long duration.
