7 Tips on How You Can Turn A Long Flight Into A Comfortable Trip

Some of the tips you can follow to have a comfortable flight is to use the pillow that you are provided with, do stretches and flexes from time to time, use a moisturizer if your skin becomes dry, bring along chewing gum, put on slip-on shoes, carry your prescription pain medicine if you suffer from a broken bone, and consider flying by charter plane.

Many travelers tend to dread the idea of taking a long flight. Regardless of whether you fly by New York Air Charter or book an economy class seat, long flights don’t have to unpleasant. Here are some ways to help you have a more comfortable trip:

Use the pillows that you are provided with

During long flights, airlines companies give their passengers pillows. By placing one of the pillows between your seat and lower back, you can prevent or ease any pains you are experiencing on your back. The pillow can be used to support your neck as well. To make it more comfortable for your neck, you should scrunch it a bit.

Do stretches and flexes from time to time

Your muscles tend to become sore and cramped when they are left immobile for a long time. To avoid this, make sure you stretch and flex occasionally during the flight. A good way to do this would be to settle your hand on the armrest and slowly twist your torso. You can even take a walk down the aisle and stretch your legs after you are allowed to take off your seat belts. If you notice that your feet have become swollen, you can soothe the pain by twisting your feet slowly. This will also improve the circulation of your blood. You could also extend and flex your feet every now and then.

Use a moisturizer if your skin becomes dry

Be sure to moisturize your skin with long-lasting moisturizers or petroleum jelly if your skin tends to dry out quickly. The air inside the aircraft is very dry and can easily wear off light moisturizers. Don’t forget to moisturize your legs if you are wearing leggings, stockings or tight pants because they may become itchy if they dry out.

Bring along chewing gum

Popping of your ears is caused by changing air pressure inside the aircraft, and you can avoid this by chewing gum. Changes in air pressure are possible not just when the plane is taking off or landing; it may also occur during the flight. A mint or menthol-flavored gum can also induce relaxation during the flight.

Wear slip-on shoes

You may want to remove your shoes during the trip because, over time, your feet can swell. To make things convenient for you, wear shoes that are easy to put on and remove.

Carry your prescription pain medicine if you suffer from a broken bone

If you suffer from a broken arm or a similar injury, be sure you are able to ask the right pain medication from your doctor. Compression usually happens during the flight and this can cause your broken bones to become very painful.

Consider flying by charter plane

Charter planes offer more personalized service to meet the needs of their customers. The plane staff will focus their attention on you and make sure you are comfortable and safe. When traveling by charter plane, the entire plane is reserved for you, so you don’t have to worry about who sit next to you or about your baggage or any other petty concern. You can simply kick back, relax and enjoy your flight.

By preparing for your trip, you can avoid any discomforts and make the most out of your flight.
