You can use Moroccan oil as a beauty treatment on your skin by following these steps: Prepare argan oil, sesame oil and a dry skin brush or barley; exfoliate your skin using the dry skin brush or barley powder mixed with argan oil; and massage argan oil mixed with sesame oil on your skin.

Moroccan oil, also called argan oil, is well known for its natural properties that are good for the skin. It is also known to be a rich source of vitamins A and E and contains about 80% of essential fatty acids. When mixed with other essential oils and natural ingredients, argan oil can deliver many beautifying and nourishing effects to the skin. Additionally, this natural oil is gentler and not harmful to the skin because it does not contain harsh and artificial chemicals, unlike commercial beauty products. All these characteristics are enough to make one consider including argan oil skin care in their beauty ritual. Here are some steps that you can follow when you can use Moroccan oil on your skin.

Step 1: Prepare argan oil, sesame oil and a dry skin brush or barley

For your Moroccan oil beauty treatment you will need argan oil, sesame oil and a dry skin brush or, if you prefer an exfoliating scrub, you can use barley that is ground to fine powder. Make sure that the oils you buy are of good quality. It is advisable that when you choose argan oil that you get one that is of cosmetic grade. Cosmetic grade argan oil is unroasted which preserves the fatty acid content of the oil. As for the sesame oil, you should look for the unrefined kind. This kind of sesame oil has very little odor and is light in color.

Step 2: Exfoliate your skin using the dry skin brush or barley powder mixed with argan oil

Exfoliating is a basic ritual and essential in all skincare routines because it removes the layers of dead skin and prepares your skin for the next steps. Using the dry skin brush, exfoliate your skin. Or instead of a dry skin brush, you can also opt to use barley as an exfoliating scrub for your skin. Grind the barley first into fine powder and mix the powder with a drop or two of the argan oil you have. Apply this mixture on your face by gently scrubbing in circular motions.

Step 3: Massage argan oil mixed with sesame oil on your skin

Argan oil is quite expensive if you use it by itself. You can mix argan oil with the sesame oil and apply it to your skin. Clinical studies have revealed that sesame oil enhances the effects of argan oil especially in terms of controlling oil production in the skin. There is no specific ratio when combining sesame and argan oils. When your mixture is ready, you can apply the oil by massaging it onto your skin. Argan oil is easily absorbed by the skin and leaves no greasy traces.

The health and beautifying effects of argan oil make it an amazing beauty product. The important things to know are how you can use it and what other ingredients you should mix it with to suit your skin’s needs.
