Some delightful themes that you can consider for your kid’s birthday party are a mad tea party, circus, favorite fairytale, rock concert, or pirate ship.
There’s nothing more fun and exciting than your child’s birthday party. The occasion calls for adequate planning and creative thinking. Don’t be afraid to explore new themes that incorporate unique birthday ideas that both your child and his or her guests will remember for years to come. Here are some delightful themes you can consider:
Mad tea party
Let your daughter have a taste of the finer things in life with her own tea party. Make it more fun and quirky by drawing inspiration from the mad tea party featured in Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. You can set children’s tables on the lawn or garden and decorate them with fancy tablecloths and an assortment of colorful teacups, saucers, teapots and flowers. You can also put stuffed teddy bears and dolls on some of the chairs. Serve small cakes and sandwiches to the kids and allow them to relish their own tea party experience.
Circus
Circuses are the epitome of fun so why not recreate one for your child’s birthday? You can rent a big top tent and hire circus performers like clowns, fire breathers and acrobats to entertain your child and his or her guests. You can also set up arcade games where the kids can play and win prizes. Send invitations designed like circus tickets to your child’s guests and serve everyone popcorn, cotton candy, candy bars and other familiar circus treats.
Favorite fairytale
If your child is fond of fairytales or has one that he or she considers a personal favorite, you can use it as a theme and setting for the party. For instance if your child is fond of Snow White, use imagery from the Disney version of the fairytale to decorate the invitations, venue and even the food. You can also come up with game ideas based on that particular fairytale.
Rock concert
Echo your child’s love for music with his or her own rock concert-themed party. Design the party’s invitations to look like rock concert tickets. Have your child wear a rock-inspired outfit including leather jacket, boots and wildly colored hair. You can also ask his or her guests to do the same. The venue can be set up like a rock concert complete with a small stage and the walls plastered with posters featuring your child posing like a rock star. You can buy or rent kid-sized musical instruments that the celebrant and the party guests can try to play.
Pirate ship
You can also choose to recreate your child’s fondness for characters like Sinbad the Sailor or the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series. If you can afford it, you can charter a yacht and have it decorated to resemble a pirate ship or you can simply design a room to look like the interior of a pirate ship. Use barrels, anchors, fishing nets and skull and crossbones flags as your décor. Ask your child and his or her guests to dress up as pirates and hand out pirate eye patches for everyone. Have the kids go on a treasure hunt as one of the games.
There are many unique ways to celebrate your child’s birthday, but the most important thing is that both of you enjoy the occasion together.
