The natal chart is a wheel divided into 12 parts corresponding to the signs of the Zodiac, ruling planets, and the houses.
A natal chart is a visual diagram drawn for the purposes of exploring the personality, potentials, astrological influences and many other aspects of an individual. The visual map appears like a wheel divided into 12 parts. It depicts heavenly bodies and the positions of different planets in relation to someone’s birth. It also takes into consideration the person’s time and place of birth. Imagine the natal chart as a puzzle with different components. Each puzzle piece holds a specific meaning. Many individuals refer to natal charts for making predictions. To do this accurately, they must understand the different pieces of the puzzle.
Signs of the Zodiac
The natal chart is divided into 12 parts which represent the 12 signs of the Zodiac. Each sign typically has 30 degrees, giving the entire Zodiac a 360-degree measurement. The measurement for each sign depends on the House system used, but each one remains at a fixed position. The Zodiac is a circle which the planets travel through during their orbit around the sun. The twelve signs of the Zodiac have corresponding colors that represent certain attitude and psychological patterns. These further give personality to the passing planets. Commonly associated colors and traits with the different Zodiac signs are yellow for Gemini which represents clarity, pink for Libra which represents kindness, Aquarius has blue for independence, Aries is associated with the color red for gaining attention, Leo has the color orange which represents honorable intentions, Sagittarius is associated with purple for wisdom, Cancer has sea green for tranquility, black is commonly associated with Scorpio for letting go, Pisces has blue for gentle calmness, Taurus has the green color for growth, Virgo is associated with gray for stability and Capricorn has the color brown which represents strength.
Ruling planets
Each of the ten planets, including the sun and the moon, represent different energy phases. Every planet corresponds to the different urges and needs that humans feel. Each of these heavenly bodies is the planetary ruler for corresponding signs of the Zodiac. The movements of the planet through the chart usually results in a relationship occurring between two planets. These planetary dynamics are called aspects. One of the most frequent aspects is the “conjunction”. A conjunction occurs when two or more planets have moved very close to one another and are said to be technically found on the same spot. This aspect causes the planets to be in sync with one another and be united. On the other hand, an opposite aspect is the “opposition” which occurs when two and more planets are on the opposite spot of the other. An opposition may cause internal struggles and tensions between the concerned planets.
Houses
The houses, or spheres, represent the basic parts of a person’s life. The division of the houses reveal where the planets or circumstances interpreted from the planetary positions will manifest themselves. The 12 houses are usually identified as self appearance, finances, the environment, the home, romance, health, marriage or relationships, death, religion, career, friendship and self-communion.
The natal chart is an interesting tool used and consulted by many people to help them understand the circumstances they are in.
